For hundreds of years, kitchens have always had a device of sorts for toasting bread. The original design had a huge handled metal pan to hold bread, which was placed into open fire to toast the bread. From this model, the toaster eventually transformed several hundred years after. It has become more compact, convenient, and technologically advanced. Instead of an open fire toasting thing, the toaster and the toaster oven have taken its place.

There are so many kinds of toasters and toaster ovens to choose from. There are big toasters, small toasters, blue toasters, red toasters—you name it. If the earlier toasters only had two slots for slices of bread, there are now the types that can house and toast up to eight slices of bread at the same time. However, if your toasting needs still require more room for more bread and other food items, then the toaster oven is going to be a great pick over the regular toaster.

The regular blue toaster is primarily used in toasting small foot items that will fit inside a small slot. Toaster ovens on the other hand are similar to electrical oven appliances, but are much smaller and can do smaller-scaled functions. Compared to the regular toaster though, a toaster oven can also cook frozen goods, bagels, pizzas, baked potatoes, hotdogs, ham and fish, and at half the time compared to a regular oven. Having one of each said appliance at home can be a very good kitchen investment as they can perform various specialized functions. The older toasters are popup lever and dial-controlled. The more modern blue toasters and toaster ovens are now digitalized which makes kitchen life a tad easier.

Different brands of toasters and toaster ovens have varying designs and features. Some have customizable settings that will allow you to heat frozen pastries without burning them. Some have a reheat button and an eject button which pops the bread up at a single push. For those who eat very little, there are single toasters that only toast one slice of bread.

If you just love bagels, then a toaster with a bigger food slot will work best for you. You can even make a full sandwich with chicken, lettuce and all sorts of things inside it and toast it as a whole. However, toasters can only do so much because they are primarily designed to just toast bread. Toaster ovens on the other hand can do that, plus a lot more. But if you can have both in your kitchen, that will be much better, of course. What is great about them is that they don’t fill up too much space, and they are also very simple and convenient to use.

If toaster aesthetics bother you, it shouldn’t. There are so many designs available nowadays and you will surely find it easy to find a match for your particular kitchen decor. Usually, blue toasters are designed to fit in well in any kitchen scenario, and it is almost impossible to find a kitchen that does not have a toaster or toaster oven in their collection of kitchen appliances. If you don’t want it visible anywhere, you can simply place it inside your kitchen cabinet or under the counter and take it out only when necessary.

Toasters of all designs, shapes, colors and sizes are very easy to find at the local department or appliance center, and they usually only cost about $30 or less. Blue toaster ovens on the other hand can be more commonly found in the larger appliance stores. Before purchasing one however, be sure to compare one model to another because they can be a bit costly, usually ranging between $100 to $300 depending on the brand and features. Purchasing blue toasters and toaster ovens online is one of the easiest ways to scout for the right toaster without having to leave home, so that by the time you’re already ready to purchase, you wouldn’t have to spend a lot of time comparing and selecting any longer.
